Hollywood Reporter is on top of a story about efforts to bring a Buck Rogers movie to the big screen while also planning for other media, like a television show, soon. Produced by Don Murphy and Susan Montford (they did Transformers and Real Steel) under the Legendary label there looks to be several opportunities for the long-lost astronaut hero.

Buck's last appearance of any note was a television series, "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century", produced by Glen Larson (Knight Rider, Battlestar Galactica). The series squeaked out a two-year run on NBC from 1979 until 1981 (an actor's strike delayed the second season.). Featuring Gil Gerard as Buck and Erin Gray as Col.
